About Chewacla Falls
Chewacla Falls is a dam in Alabama, on Chewacla Creek.
It's fullest after rain, and flow can drop off during dry spells — plan around recent weather.
Plungeworthy rates Chewacla Falls 4.6/10 — if you're passing. The score weighs its scale, how confidently it's mapped, and its character.
What you'll find
A 30-to-34-foot cascade over CCC stonework at Chewacla State Park south of Auburn — honestly a spillway, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s as part of the park's original lake and dam, and worn into the landscape for ninety years since.
Being lake-fed, it runs more consistently than the free-flowing creeks on this list.
It's a short walk from the park's lake and swimming area — the most casual waterfall visit in the state.

Before you go
The pin marks the feature, not a trailhead or a legal route in. Some sit on private land or need a real hike, and conditions change with season and rain. Check local access, don't trespass, and never enter water — hot or cold — where it isn't safe.
