These terms govern your use of plungeworthy.com ("Plungeworthy," "we," "us"). By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the site.
Assumption of risk — read this
Plungeworthy is an information directory. We describe natural, unsupervised, and often remote places. Visiting them — and entering any water, hot or cold — is inherently dangerous. You use this site, and you visit any place it describes, entirely at your own risk.
Hazards include but are not limited to: drowning, hypothermia, scalding water, flash floods, falls from height, slippery and unstable terrain, changing flows, contaminated or disease-carrying water, wildlife, remoteness from medical care, and lack of cell coverage. Conditions change constantly and our information may be outdated, incomplete, or wrong. A pin marks a feature — not a trail, a legal route of access, or a safe place to enter the water.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Plungeworthy and its operators are not liable for any injury, death, property damage, trespass claim, or other loss arising from your use of the site or your visit to any location it describes. You are solely responsible for verifying access and land ownership, judging conditions, knowing your own limits, and complying with all laws. If you are not prepared to accept these risks, do not visit the places listed here.
The information we publish
Content is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind — express or implied — including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or currency. Scores, verdicts, and descriptions are editorial opinions derived from records and community reports, not safety ratings. Community-submitted content (ratings, comments, photos, conditions reports, and locations) reflects its authors, not us, and may be wrong.
Accounts and membership
You're responsible for your account and what happens under it. Membership is billed at $10/year through Stripe and renews automatically until you cancel from your account page; cancellation stops future charges and your membership runs through the period already paid. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you submit. By submitting, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to host, display, adapt, and distribute it on Plungeworthy and in materials that promote it, credited to your account name. Submit only what you have rights to, don't post private information, spam, or unlawful content, and don't submit locations where public access is prohibited. We review submissions and may edit, reject, or remove any content at our discretion.
Acceptable use
Don't scrape at scale, interfere with the service, misrepresent your identity, or use the site to plan unlawful activity, including trespass.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the site is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your content or your violation of these terms. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Changes
We may update these terms; the effective date above reflects the latest version. Continued use after a change is acceptance.
