About Enders Falls

Enders Falls is a 23-foot tiered in Connecticut, on Enders Brook. The water falls in 5 distinct tiers.

It's fullest after rain, and flow can drop off during dry spells — plan around recent weather.

Plungeworthy rates Enders Falls 6.3/10 — worth a detour. The score weighs its scale, how confidently it's mapped, and its character.

What you'll find

Enders Falls is five diverse waterfalls in half a mile — cascades, plunges, slides, and horsetails on Enders Brook in Granby, the tallest drop around 30 feet, with about 150 feet of total descent from trailhead to the lowest falls. Pound for pound it's the most varied waterfall walk in Connecticut.

It's also the state's most sobering: a 15-year-old died in a fall here in 2013, a college student was seriously injured in 2017, and the record includes more. DEEP's language is unambiguous — the rocks are extremely slippery when wet, and swimming or wading is not recommended. That's an advisory, not a ban, which puts the judgment on you; the injury list argues for taking the advisory seriously.

Stay on the purple-blazed stone-dust trail and the falls give you everything from above — every drop has a safe viewing angle without descending the ravine walls.

Where it is

Before you go

The pin marks the feature, not a trailhead or a legal route in. Some sit on private land or need a real hike, and conditions change with season and rain. Check local access, don't trespass, and never enter water — hot or cold — where it isn't safe.
