What you'll find

A working piece of the 1870s: log cabins with no electricity, a gravel-bottomed main pool at bath temperature, two hotter source pools around 113°F, and a shallow kids' pool — all ringed by meadow and lodgepole at 6,100 feet. Commercial, reservation-only, swimsuits required, and worth planning around.

Road: Warren Wagon Road from McCall — 30 paved miles, then two of gravel

Heads up: About an hour north of McCall. In winter the road closes and guests arrive by snowmobile over a groomed trail — which is the whole point.

When to go

June through November by car; the December–April snowmobile season is the bucket-list version. Day soaks run in reserved two-hour blocks and sell out summer weekends.
