Lower Cataract Falls is the second act of Indiana's biggest waterfall — Mill Creek dropping another 30 feet about a mile downstream of the Upper falls, just before the creek dissolves into Cagles Mill Lake.

The Lower falls is wider than it is tall, and at spring flow it goes brown-gold and thunderous — volume is the whole show here.

Most visitors hit the Upper falls and the covered bridge and skip this one. Their loss; the mile between the two is the best of Lieber SRA.
