About Snake River Falls
Snake River Falls is a 23-foot block in Nebraska, on Snake River.
It's fullest after rain, and flow can drop off during dry spells — plan around recent weather.
Plungeworthy rates Snake River Falls 6.7/10 — worth a detour. The score weighs its scale, how confidently it's mapped, and its character.
What you'll find
Nebraska's largest waterfall by volume: the Snake River pours over a 54-foot-wide ledge at up to 230 cubic feet per second, in a deep canyon at the easternmost edge of the region's ponderosa pine forest. Height is modest — around 20 feet — but the sheer push of water is the show.
It sits on private land owned by the Snake Falls Sportsmen's Club, which sells public viewing access through the clubhouse for $2 per adult and $1 per child, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
Viewing is from two roped overlook sites. The old scramble down into the canyon is no longer allowed — this is a look-and-photograph stop, not a swim.

Before you go
The pin marks the feature, not a trailhead or a legal route in. Some sit on private land or need a real hike, and conditions change with season and rain. Check local access, don't trespass, and never enter water — hot or cold — where it isn't safe.
