About Mary Jane Falls
Mary Jane Falls is a plunge in Nevada.
Fed largely by snowmelt, it runs hardest in late spring and early summer and can thin to a trickle by late season.
Plungeworthy rates Mary Jane Falls 3.6/10 — one for the list. The score weighs its scale, how confidently it's mapped, and its character.
What you'll find
A seasonal cascade commonly cited at 200 to 300 feet, spilling into a natural limestone amphitheater with two small caves beside it. Snowmelt-fed — outside a wet spring it fades to dripping rock.
The trail is closed indefinitely. Tropical Storm Hilary wrecked it in August 2023, a Forest Service closure order remains in force, and repair crews were still asking the public to steer clear as of mid-2026. No reopening date has been given — check the forest's alerts before planning anything.

Before you go
The pin marks the feature, not a trailhead or a legal route in. Some sit on private land or need a real hike, and conditions change with season and rain. Check local access, don't trespass, and never enter water — hot or cold — where it isn't safe.
