About Beede Falls
Beede Falls is a 37-foot slide in New Hampshire, on Bearcamp River.
It's fullest after rain, and flow can drop off during dry spells — plan around recent weather.
Plungeworthy rates Beede Falls 6.7/10 — worth a detour. The score weighs its scale, how confidently it's mapped, and its character.
What you'll find
Beede Falls is a modest, charming spot in Sandwich Notch: Bearcamp River water pouring about 10 feet over a clamshell-shaped ledge into a sand-bottomed swimming hole, at the base of a longer granite slide. Beside it is Cow Cave, an undercut ledge named for a local legend about a cow that wintered beneath it.
It's been a swimming hole since the 1800s and still feels like one — a town-park kind of place at the end of a dirt notch road, better suited to families and picnics than waterfall pilgrimages.
The real constraint is the road: Sandwich Notch Road is a rough, town-maintained dirt road that's gated closed in winter, typically from early December to mid-May — and it has opened as late as June after a heavy-snow year. The falls has a season, and it's set by the gate.

A summer spot by definition — the road gate sets the season. The sandy-bottomed pool is at its best on hot July and August days.

Before you go
The pin marks the feature, not a trailhead or a legal route in. Some sit on private land or need a real hike, and conditions change with season and rain. Check local access, don't trespass, and never enter water — hot or cold — where it isn't safe.
