About Bridal Veil Falls
Bridal Veil Falls is a 50-foot tiered in New Hampshire, on Coppermine Brook. The water falls in 2 distinct tiers.
It's fullest after rain, and flow can drop off during dry spells — plan around recent weather.
Plungeworthy rates Bridal Veil Falls 7.6/10 — worth the drive. The score weighs its scale, how confidently it's mapped, and its character.
What you'll find
Bridal Veil Falls drops 50 feet in a delicate veil on Coppermine Brook, tucked into a ravine on the west side of Cannon Mountain — the reward at the end of the Coppermine Trail, one of the most pleasant moderate waterfall hikes in Franconia.
Unlike the drive-up falls along the notch roads, this one asks for a real walk: five miles round trip at a steady, family-friendly grade that never exceeds about 12%, following the brook most of the way with a cascade side-path at the one-mile mark and a bridge crossing near the Coppermine Shelter just below the falls.
The effort filters the crowds — on a weekday you can have a 50-foot waterfall to yourself, twenty minutes from Franconia village.
Getting there
- Trailhead
- Coppermine Trail, Coppermine Road off NH 116, about 3.5 miles south of I-93 in Franconia
- Parking
- Small trailhead parking area off Coppermine Road
- Road
- NH 116 — paved; short gravel trailhead spur
- Hike
- 5 mi round trip, 1,100 ft of climb (Moderate — consistent, gentle grade; long rather than steep)
- Heads up
- Coppermine Shelter sits just below the falls; the first falls view arrives from a lower pool shortly after the bridge.
When to go
Best in late spring for flow and early October for color. The veil thins in late summer — this is a delicate falls, not a thunderer, and it photographs best in moderate water.

Before you go
The pin marks the feature, not a trailhead or a legal route in. Some sit on private land or need a real hike, and conditions change with season and rain. Check local access, don't trespass, and never enter water — hot or cold — where it isn't safe.
