A 65-foot river-wide curtain into one of the Blue Ridge's biggest plunge pools, a half-mile walk from the lot. The Forest Service calls this one of the deadliest scenic attractions in the county — the beauty is free, the pool is a trap.

Hike: 1 mi round trip (easy — rocky walkway)
Heads up: Reopened May 2026 after a second round of Helene debris removal; the site has re-closed once before, so glance at USFS alerts before a long drive.

Summer for the spectacle, fall for color. High water after rain closes the rocks fast.
