About Dingmans Falls

Dingmans Falls is a waterfall in Pennsylvania, on Dingmans Creek. The water falls in 3 distinct tiers.

It's fullest after rain, and flow can drop off during dry spells — plan around recent weather.

Plungeworthy rates Dingmans Falls 4.6/10 — if you're passing. The score weighs its scale, how confidently it's mapped, and its character.

What you'll find

130 feet of Dingmans Creek in two tiers, normally the easiest big waterfall in the Poconos thanks to a visitor-center boardwalk — and currently unreachable. The NPS closed the entire site, road included, for a multi-year bridge and boardwalk rebuild; the reopening date has slipped more than once. Check the park's conditions page before believing anyone's schedule, including ours.

Getting there

Trailhead
Dingmans Falls Visitor Center, Johnny Bee Road — CLOSED, road and all
Road
Johnny Bee Road closed to vehicles, bikes, and feet alike
Heads up
Don't confuse this with 'Dingmans Access,' the separate paid river launch on the same road. Raymondskill Falls, ten minutes north, is the open alternative.

When to go

When the boardwalk reopens: spring flow is the show. Until then, the falls runs unwatched.

Where it is

Before you go

The pin marks the feature, not a trailhead or a legal route in. Some sit on private land or need a real hike, and conditions change with season and rain. Check local access, don't trespass, and never enter water — hot or cold — where it isn't safe.
