Heads up: Flat forest walking until the short stair climb at the end. Ignore the Mount Storm King split unless you want a very different day.

When to go

Year-round — spring for the fattest flow, summer for dry footing and the biggest crowds. Winter brings mud, moss at maximum saturation, and near-solitude.
