About Falls of Hills Creek
Falls of Hills Creek is a waterfall in West Virginia, on Hills Creek.
It's fullest after rain, and flow can drop off during dry spells — plan around recent weather.
Plungeworthy rates Falls of Hills Creek 3/10 — one for the list. The score weighs its scale, how confidently it's mapped, and its character.
What you'll find
Three falls stacked in a rhododendron ravine — 25, 45, and 63 feet, the last among West Virginia's tallest. Honest 2026 status: the paved path to the upper falls is open, but the boardwalk beyond — to the middle and lower falls — has been closed since March for storm damage with no announced reopening. Call the forest before driving for the big one.

Before you go
The pin marks the feature, not a trailhead or a legal route in. Some sit on private land or need a real hike, and conditions change with season and rain. Check local access, don't trespass, and never enter water — hot or cold — where it isn't safe.
