About Falling Creek Falls

Falling Creek Falls is a 10-foot plunge in Florida, on Falling Creek.

It's fullest after rain, and flow can drop off during dry spells — plan around recent weather.

Plungeworthy rates Falling Creek Falls 5.9/10 — worth a detour. The score weighs its scale, how confidently it's mapped, and its character.

What you'll find

A 10-foot drop over a limestone ledge into a shaded ravine — then, a quarter-mile downstream, Falling Creek pours underground into a sinkhole and is gone.

The 204-acre preserve around it was bought from the Parker and Hogan families in 2001 specifically to protect the falls. The whole visit is boardwalk — wheelchair and stroller friendly.

When to go

Normal-to-wet water levels — the managing district says the creek “roars over” the ledge at normal flow, but drought thins it like every North Florida falls.

Where it is

Before you go

The pin marks the feature, not a trailhead or a legal route in. Some sit on private land or need a real hike, and conditions change with season and rain. Check local access, don't trespass, and never enter water — hot or cold — where it isn't safe.
