The widest waterfall in Florida — a broad limestone shelf across the full Steinhatchee River, dropping roughly 4 to 5 feet at low water and nearly disappearing when the river runs high.
The falls doubles as one of Florida's oldest river crossings: Native Americans forded here, armies crossed in both Seminole Wars, and the wagon ruts of the 1800s Old Bellamy Road are still carved into the limestone just above the drop.
