About Tannery Falls
Tannery Falls is a tiered in Massachusetts, on Ross Brook. The water falls in 2 distinct tiers.
It's fullest after rain, and flow can drop off during dry spells — plan around recent weather.
Plungeworthy rates Tannery Falls 5.2/10 — if you're passing. The score weighs its scale, how confidently it's mapped, and its character.
What you'll find
Tannery Falls is the star of Savoy Mountain State Forest — Ross Brook diving roughly 80 feet (some measure closer to 100) through a mossy chasm into a deep green pool, with the final drop fanning over a rock shelf. Many Berkshire regulars quietly rank it the prettiest waterfall in the state.
The bonus is next door: Parker Brook Falls, a 40-to-60-foot cascade on the adjacent stream, sits a few paces away — two significant waterfalls on one half-mile walk, each on its own brook, meeting just below.
The DCR posts it plainly: no swimming, no rock climbing. The pool tempts; the polished rock around it is why the rule exists.

Before you go
The pin marks the feature, not a trailhead or a legal route in. Some sit on private land or need a real hike, and conditions change with season and rain. Check local access, don't trespass, and never enter water — hot or cold — where it isn't safe.
