About Little Falls

Little Falls is a waterfall in Nevada.

Fed largely by snowmelt, it runs hardest in late spring and early summer and can thin to a trickle by late season.

Plungeworthy rates Little Falls 3/10 — one for the list. The score weighs its scale, how confidently it's mapped, and its character.

What you'll find

A 30-to-50-foot multi-drop cascade in a tight canyon beneath Cathedral Rock — and right now the only waterfall you can legally hike to at Mt. Charleston, with its famous neighbors closed for storm repairs.

It's also the steadiest: partly spring-fed rather than pure snowmelt, so it holds flow into summer after Mary Jane's window has closed.

Getting there

Trailhead
Cathedral Rock (South Loop) Trailhead at the top of Kyle Canyon Road, near the Cathedral Rock Picnic Area — about 45 minutes from Las Vegas
Parking
Free at the trailhead — the adjacent picnic area charges day-use parking, but you don't need it for this trail
Road
Paved
Hike
0.8 mi round trip (Short but rocky — harder than the mileage suggests)

When to go

May through October, with more reliable water than its neighbors even in summer.

Before you go

The pin marks the feature, not a trailhead or a legal route in. Some sit on private land or need a real hike, and conditions change with season and rain. Check local access, don't trespass, and never enter water — hot or cold — where it isn't safe.
