About Right Fork Cascades
Right Fork Cascades is a waterfall in Nevada, on Right Fork Lamoille Creek.
Fed largely by snowmelt, it runs hardest in late spring and early summer and can thin to a trickle by late season.
Plungeworthy rates Right Fork Cascades 3.5/10 — one for the list. The score weighs its scale, how confidently it's mapped, and its character.
What you'll find
A 140-foot chain of tiered cascades along Right Fork Lamoille Creek — long stair-step drops where the creek falls off elevation shelves, not one clean plunge. The trail runs 5.84 miles one-way to Echo Lake through Ruby Mountains Wilderness.
The 2018 Range 2 Fire burned through this drainage, and it shows: expect standing dead trees, stretches where the trail feels half-reclaimed, and seven years of visible recovery. The hike is legal and open — just a different canyon than pre-fire photos suggest.

Before you go
The pin marks the feature, not a trailhead or a legal route in. Some sit on private land or need a real hike, and conditions change with season and rain. Check local access, don't trespass, and never enter water — hot or cold — where it isn't safe.
