About Rochester Falls
Rochester Falls is a tiered in Missouri, on Platte River. The water falls in 2 distinct tiers.
It's fullest after rain, and flow can drop off during dry spells — plan around recent weather.
Plungeworthy rates Rochester Falls 5.2/10 — if you're passing. The score weighs its scale, how confidently it's mapped, and its character.
What you'll find
The honest version: the waterfall is gone. The Platte River once dropped over small limestone ledges here, but decades of flooding scattered the ledge rock downstream to a sandbar — which multiple sources describe as the only reminder the falls ever existed.
What remains is Rochester Falls Access, a 14-acre Missouri Department of Conservation area: 11 primitive campsites, vault toilet, picnic tables, fire rings, and good canoe and fishing access to the Platte.
Come for the river, not the name.

Before you go
The pin marks the feature, not a trailhead or a legal route in. Some sit on private land or need a real hike, and conditions change with season and rain. Check local access, don't trespass, and never enter water — hot or cold — where it isn't safe.
